These are truly exciting times and we want to continue with the strong momentum we are building. To do that, we must keep pressing forward and keep the vision continually in front of us. For those who do not know what R.U.S.H. means, I pray this brief explanation helps clarify my heart for the students of Living Waters Christian Fellowship.
Revolution: We believe this is a generation of result seeking believers who want to see and experience God’s word working inside of them and how that affects those that they have contact with in their home, school, work, and community. We are charged to ignite this generation and mobilize them for the Kingdom of God. Jesus says in John 14:12 “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”
Unity: Jesus prays in John 17 for those who follow him in future generations. In this prayer he says that it would be by our unity as believers that the world would know he was legit. We must press the boundaries of our comfort zones; create a ministry of diversified members coming from every background and denomination. We must stick to the unchangeable word of God, agree on the eternal principles that matter, and stand together in these last and desperate days.
Service: Nothing will solidify our faith or the faith of others more than the Gospel in action. We must train, teach, preach, exemplify, and demonstrate the active and powerful love of Jesus Christ to our communities and church. In 1 Peter 4:10 it says, “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” That means everyone has a place and part in doing something for Jesus.
Hope: There is nothing more powerful than the gift of hope. Hebrews 10:23 says, “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” We must offer hope to those who see nothing but the damage and destruction Satan has left in his quake. This is the first generation in American history that will grow up not knowing anything about God, his word, his love, or his forgiveness. What we have no other religion or political system can offer. Hope for eternity yes, but hope for right now, without question.
